Sashay! Shante!

Well folks this weekend started out with a little bit of "work turn to the left....work, now turn to the right! (Thanks RuPaul)

Yes my little ones were in a fashion show. They each made their modeling debut Saturday morning for the cute children's line CocoBonBons (shameless plug). Fortunately for both of them the attendance mostly consisted to only the parents who had children in the show, because let me tell you there was no- "Making love to the camera" on this beautiful Saturday morning.

Of course my son who is 7 was like "Gaaahh Mom do I really have to" (visualize extreme pain and agony) I know what you are all saying......Yes it was somewhat cruel punishment on my part. Well let me tell you he did his thing on the runway alright, he worked his Attitude. There was no cute be bopping, no smiling, NO LOVE!!! In fact he looked down right angry. Needless to say I will never make him do anything like that again. I ended up giving him 3 prizes that day to try and make it up to him.

Now let's talk about our sassy little girl. Yes, the one that prances around the house dancing and singing. The one that always has to be center stage. Complete meltdown. Crying, sobbing, boo whooing. She was frozen stiff. Couldn't even go out there. Yes she had stage fright!!!!

The day wasn't a complete wash. Bonus - we got to keep the super cute outfits that they modeled and there was a lot of fun stuff for them to do after the fashion show. The morning ended up being a lot of fun and a learning experience.....my children will probably not be supermodels. Oh well it could be worse.

Welcome to Monkey Tales

Welcome to my page!!! This is my very first blog ever and I really have no idea what I am doing. I want this to be a place that my friends and family can easily follow the lives of my two little monkeys. I am thinking that this should be pretty easy for me because I LOVE to talk about my children. So here goes.............

Let's start today off by introducing Emery and Elijah to blognation.

Emery is my 4 year old. She is in preschool and reminds me every other day just how big she is and that she will be in kindergarten soon. Emery is the epitome of Sass! From the way she talks to the way she walks and everything in between is SASSY!!!! She is wild and she leaves her mark in a room in about 0.5 seconds. Even still I can't turn my back on her for a second or she has taken a sharpee to my computer or white out to my couch. She is a "MAD MONKEY". Emery's extra curricular activities include gymnastics, she can't wait to be a cheerleader (age 5) and she loves to play dollhouse, kitchen and dress up. She is already fashion conscious and argues with me everyday about her wardrobe....God help me when she becomes a tween. I love my daughter and all her "dramedies" and she may very well be the funniest most unique person I know.

Elijah is my 7 year old, 2nd grader. He is a great student and has a natural artistic talent.I have his artwork framed and displayed through out the house. It makes for "priceless" decor!!! He loves to read. I just bought him "The Diary of a Wimpy Kid". I can't believe he is already reading a book that has 200+ pages in it, such a big boy. Elijah is definitely going to be more of a scholastic child but we keep trying to find his niche in the athletic arena. We have tried baseball, soccer, taekwondo etc. Next month he is going to start playing basketball so stay tuned to find out if he is enjoying it. Elijah loves playing Legos and most recently started writing and illustrating his own comic book. He is such a sweet boy and has the cutest smile that just makes my heart melt.

Stay tuned to hear their "monkey tales"! I hope you enjoy my page.
